Vitamin B12 Reduces Vascular Disease
Clinical Study Title:
Importance of both folic acid and vitamin B12 in reduction of risk
of vascular disease.
| Plain
English Summary: |
The
use of folate and vitamin b12 on homocysteine levels
was examined in adults. A total of 53 adults were
enrolled in the study. Measures of homocysteine levels
were taken for all participants. Analysis confirmed
that the vitamin b12 had the most effect on reduction
of homocysteine levels. This suggests that a supplement
should have vitamin b12 in addition to folate to help
reduce the homocysteine levels of the blood. This
will help further decrease the risk of heart disease.
