Vitamin B2 Helps Protect Against Gingivitis
Clinical Study Title:
Nutritional variables related to gingival health in adolescent girls.
| Plain
English Summary: |
This
study looked at various nutritional factors that are
associated with gingivitis. A total of 27 females
with gingivitis were compared to women of the same
age and risk factors who did not have gingivitis.
Comparisons between the two groups showed some nutritional
differences that are believed to be related to gingivitis.
The intake of both calcium and vitamin B2 were associated
with the development of gingivitis. Those females
who took supplements of calcium and vitamin B2 had
reduced risk of gingivitis. This suggests that calcium
and vitamin B2 have some protection against gingivitis.
