Niacin Therapy for Dyslipidemia
Clinical Study Title:
Niacin as a component of combination therapy for dyslipidemia.
| Plain
English Summary: |
There
are many factors for coronary heart disease, many
of which are controllable, especially dylipidemia.
One of the most effective means of correcting this
is through supplementation with niacin. Niacin has
the benefit of increasing the good cholesterol and
helping to reduce the low density cholesterol, or
the bad cholesterol. Niacin also has an effect on
the triglycerides and lipoproteins. Niacin is also
a great compliment to other drugs used to help lower
cholesterol. Most people tolerate all forms of vitamin
B3 well, but there may be some differences among those
with insulin or glucose problems, and a doctor consultation
should be made before self administration. For most
people, niacin is a powerful agent for cholesterol
and dyslipidemia, and supplementation is usually well
tolerated. |
