high density lipoproteins using statin-niacin combination therapy.

This
study examined the effectiveness of a statin with
niacin combination treatment of cholesterol levels.
Patients who were taking the statin-niacin combination
were interviewed during the course of 6 year trial.
The vast majority of the participants verbalized tolerance of
the drug, and no side effects were reported. All participants
had a reduction in cholesterol while taking the combination
therapy. The niacin has a protective effect for the
heart, by helping to alleviate cholesterol
problems, and is a safe and effective vitamin, even when combined with other drugs. |
