in Youth (EARLY) Trial.

English Summary: |
This
study looked at the use of vitamin E and C in combination
for the treatment of hyperlipidemia in children. Hyperlipidemia
is a risk factor for many chronic illnesses, such
as atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease. A total
of 15 children were given either a placebo or a daily
combination of vitamin E and C, as well as put on
a special diet. The use of the vitamin combination
helped to improved brachial functioning. This suggests
that a daily supplement including both vitamin C and
E can help to improve heart function as well as help
to reduce the risk of atherosclerosis and coronary
heart disease. |
