Vitamin K May Be Helpful for Breast Cancer
Clinical Study Title:
Growth inhibition and protein tyrosine phosphorylation in MCF 7
breast cancer cells by a novel K vitamin.
| Plain
English Summary: |
Certain
breast cancer cells have been found to be able to
resist being affected by many cancer killing drugs
currently available. A new vitamin K form has been
found however to have the ability to stop the growth
of these types of breast cancer cells. The mechanism
for its ability works by affecting the thiols of the
cancer cells. The inhibition of the cancer cells was
increased with increases in the amounts of the vitamin
K that were involved. This new form of vitamin K may
be helpful at helping to treat breast cancer in the
near future. |
