Vitamin K Correct Warfarin Side Effects
Clinical Study Title:
Low-dose oral vitamin K reliably reverses over-anticoagulation due
to warfarin.
| Plain
English Summary: |
The
use of warfarin can have many adverse reactions including
abnormalities with their international normalized
ratio. The purpose of this study was to examine the
use of a vitamin K supplement to help adjust the international
normalized ratio for patients taking warfarin. All
of the participants who received the vitamin K supplement
had reduced levels of international normalized ratio
beginning almost right after treatment. This suggests
that the use of vitamin K is a safe, effective, inexpensive
way to help to correct the side effects of warfarin
by reducing raised levels of international normalized
ratio. |
