Vitamin B5 for Wound Healing

Effect of pantothenic acid and ascorbic acid supplementation on
human skin wound healing process. A double-blind, prospective and
randomized trial.

This
study looked at healing time of wounds after the use
of a vitamin C and B5 supplementation. Participants
in this study were having surgery related to their
tattoos, and were given either a placebo or the vitamin
combination supplementation. In this study, the use
of the combination therapy provided only minimal healing
improvements, but it further looks at the role of
other nutrients in healing. A more varied or complete multivitamin
may provide an increase in healing over the 2-vitamin
combo.Vitamin E in particular may be beneficial. |
