Vitamins B6 and B12 for Healthy Heart
Clinical Study Title:
Effect of homocysteine reduction by B-vitamin supplementation on
markers of clotting activation.
| Plain
English Summary: |
This
study looked at the effect of a vitamin b6-b12 combo
on reducing the homocysteine levels in the blood.
Many studies have shown this combo to be effective
in animals. Homocysteine levels are associated with
various diseases, such as hardening of the arteries
as well as heart disease. Participants were given
supplements or a placebo daily for a total of 8 weeks.
At the conclusion of the study, it was found that
a vitamin b6-b12 combination can be beneficial for
even healthy individuals by aiding in activating the
clotting mechanism and thus providing some benefits
against various chronic diseases. |
