This
study looked at the use of vitamin E supplements on
blood pressure and heart rate in people with hypertension.
Seventy participants who have been diagnosed with
mild hypertension were included in this study. Half
of the participants received daily supplements of
vitamin E, while the other group received a placebo
to take daily. After 27 weeks, blood pressure and
heart rate were examined and then compared. Those
participants who had been taking the vitamin E supplements
had a reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood
pressure. For patitents with mild hypertension, the
use of a daily vitamin E supplement can help to reduce
both the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. |
