Plasma Interleukin-6.
Clinical Study Title:
Plasma interleukin-6 is associated with psychological coronary risk factors: moderation by use of multivitamin supplements.
Plain English Summary: |
Certain components of the blood, such as Plasma Interleukin-6 (IL-6), are often associated with various aspects, in this case hostility, anger, and symptoms of depression. The plasma IL-6 was associated with hostility, anger, and the severity of the symptoms of depression in 96 males, and was found to be significant only in those men who did not smoke. Among the nonsmoking men who had difficulties with these areas, the plasma IL-6 levels were able to be reduced after use of a daily multivitamin. This suggests that these symptoms for non smoking men will be alleviated after the continued frequent use of a daily multivitamin. |
